It is possible to fix sagging breasts with implants alone, however it depends on how saggy they are. Mild to moderate sagging can be corrected. That usually means if your nipples are level with your breast fold or higher, you may not need a lift. Photos of your situation would help to give you a better idea of whether your breasts would need a lift or not.
Unfortunately, you have not provided photographs but sagging of the breasts cannot becorrected by volume addition. Irecommend is The Bellesoma Method to reshape your breast tissue creating upperpole fullness without implants, elevate them higher on the chest wall and moremedial to increase your cleavage. Vertical scars are avoided, nipple sensation and the ability to breastfeed are maintained. Best Wishes,Gary Horndeski, M.D.
In my practice, we sometimes see small deflated breasts after having children. If the nipples are above the fold and the skin is reasonable quality, then sometimes just an implant will suffice. Otherwise, if there is too much skin and the nipples hang low, then a mastopexy (or breast lift) will also have to be done. It is best to visit with a board certified plastic surgeon with years of experience.
In general terms, breast implants do not do any significant lifting of the nipple areolar complex, although sometimes filling up breast that have become deflated over time can go a long way towards correcting perceived sagging. I have definitely seen cases where I thought the patient would need a lift but after placing the implants there was enough correction to allow not doing the lift, or to allow a shorter scar technique (periareolar) and therefore minimize post-op scarring. Best to ask your surgeon for before and after photos that most closely resemble your current look and goals. Best of luck to you.
Hello and thank you for your question. Thebest advice you can receive is from an in-person consultation. It would help if you could attach photographs. If your nipple sits below the inframammary fold, then you will need a lift. Without a lift in addition to the implant, this will not have a naturalshape. A breast lift with an implant can result in a very nice shape ifgood technique is used. The size, profile, and shape of theimplant is based on your desired breast size/shape, your chest wallmeasurements, and soft tissue quality. This decision shouldbe based on a detailed discussion with equal input from both youand your surgeon. Make sure you specifically lookat before and after pictures of real patients who have had this surgeryperformed by your surgeon and evaluate their results. The mostimportant aspect is to find a surgeon you are comfortable with. I recommendthat you seek consultation with a qualified board-certified plastic surgeon whocan evaluate you in person.Best wishes and good luck.Richard G. Thank you for your question. No photo was included, but breast ptosis (sagging) in its milder forms can sometimes be corrected with implants. As the ptosis progresses, it is necessary to change the nipple/areolar position to correct the problem. This can be done with or without an implant to increase size. I would recommend scheduling a consultation with a board-certified plastic surgeon so as to determine what option would offer you the results you are seeking. Best of luck.
Hi there and thank you for your question! Breast implants provide additional volume, a Breast Lift addresses breast ptosis, sag, or droop. In some cases when a patient has some deflation of the breasts with very minimal ptosis and good skin quality an implant can provide for enough of a lift due to the additional volume. If the nipple-areolar complex (NAC) rests below the breast fold, a breast lift would be required. I encourage you to schedule an in person consultation and evaluation with a Board Certified Plastic Surgeon. At the time of your consultation your concerns, goals, and surgical options will be thoroughly reviewed and your candidacy can be best determined. I hope that this helps!
Hi. Sorry you did not post any photos. Is difficult to say not knowing the degree of your breasts ptosis (fallen of the breast) if you need a lift and the implants. If the degree of ptosis is high you will need the lift also to get satisfactory results.International Member of the American Society of Plastic SurgeonsMember of the International Society of Aesthetic Plastic Surgery
Implants alone do not adequately lift the breast when there is significant sagging, no matter the size or the type, and will not produce a good cosmetic result in a patient who also needs some variation of a lift. Keep in mind that following the advice from a surgeon on this or any other website who proposes to tell you exactly what to do without examining you, physically feeling the tissue, assessing your desired outcome, taking a full medical history, and discussing the pros and cons of each operative procedure would not be in your best interest. I would suggest your plastic surgeon be certified by the American Board of Plastic Surgery and ideally a member of the American Society for Aesthetic Plastic Surgery (ASAPS) that you trust and are comfortable with. You should discuss your concerns with that surgeon in person and be very realistic about your potential cosmetic result. Robert Singer, MD FACS La Jolla, California
Implants do not fix sagging to any significant degree. While they inflate the tissue a bit when the breast really sags one needs a lift. Best to meet with a board certified plastic surgeon for in person consultation and exam. Good luck!
Hello. Thank you for your inquiry. You may be an excellent candidate for breast augmentation surgery. Cup sizes are usually quite difficult to calculate as everyone has a different starting point. It is important to have an in-person assessment regarding your concerns as it is difficult to...
Hi BrittnycLet me say that you will likely not see a big difference between the two sizes. Most of the small difference between the two implants will be in the diameter.Think of it this way. A teaspoon = 5 cc's. A tablespoon is 15 cc's. The difference between the two implants is a tab...
Good question. Much of the final look and feel achieved after breast augmentation surgery depends on several factors: 1. The initial shape, size (volume of breast tissue), symmetry of the patient's breasts. In general, the better the preoperative breast appearance the more likely the breast...
