I'm 39 y/o and just had my first botox treatments in my forehead(15units) and crows feet (5 units each side) I'm very happy except it seems like when I smile it appears that I have more lines and wrinkles under my eyes..What can I do to correct it? Filler? Laser? I'm confused..Thanks!
Answer: Botox Concerns Thanks for your question. I recommend seeing your injecting physician so that they can best address your concerns in person. It's possible that using Botox in your crows feet may have created a more wrinkled appearance under your eyes. There are a variety of options to address this that you might be a candidate for including more Botox, fillers, laser, and even a skincare regimen to compliment your new results. Since there are so many different possibilities, it will be best for you to see a physician in person who can assess your concerns and make the best recommendation possible.

Answer: Under eye wrinkles when smiling Many clients experience the same thing you are referring to. Some times it is that they are more likely to notice subtle flaws when other issues are no longer present, like crows feet. Other times the orbicularis muscle that was injected to get rid of the crows feet becomes hyperactive just below the lower eyelid margin. In these situations 2-4 more units of Botox injected directly into the lower eyelid orbicularis muscle will take care of a lot of the wrinkling you see. Always best to be very conservative in this area.

Answer: Botox for crows feet It depends on exactly what lines you mean. If you mean lines that radiate out at the corner of the eye, then Botox can help with these. Namely, lines that go from about horizontal upward from the corner. Lines below this are made by smile muscles deep in the face and would not be injected with Botox. 5 units to the crows feet is a very small amount. I usually put between 9 and 12 units per side for crows feet. It's possible that you just didn't get enough. You should have your injector examine you to give you more information (or you could post photos).

Answer: Botox for undereye wrinkles Hi,Thank you for your question.Sometimes patients may notice worsening undereye wrinkles after Botox treatment of the crow's feet. When treating the crow's feet, you are selectively paralyzing the lateral portion of the orbicularis oculi muscle, which is a circular muscle that goes around the entire eye. Subsequently, when you smile and contract this muscle, you may notice more muscle activity at the lower part of the muscle since the outer portion is paralyzed from the Botox. You can try 1-2 units at the under eye to help soften these wrinkles but it is considered an off label treatment. Make sure to see an experienced injector.Hope this helps!

Answer: They are not bothersome unless they leave creases around your eyes. The wrinkles around the eyes, so called crow’s feet, usually occur when we smile. They are not bothersome unless they leave creases around your eyes. Botox would enhance overall appearance of your face and especially the area around your eyes, but it would not alter your face expression.
