When are you in the clear of getting necrosis?

I'm looking to have a tummy tuck and breast lift in October. One of my major worries is getting necrosis. When is that not longer a worry? How long after surgery can I stop worrying about this?

Thank you for your question.  In most cases skin that is threatened will declare itself in the first few days after surgery.  If all looks well after 5-7 days necrosis is unlikely.  Hope this helps.

While you are correct in knowing that necrosis can be a problem after surgery, although it does not happen often. Your best bet is to seek out local certified surgeons for consultation and also confirm their availability post-op for any concerns that you may have.

Necrosis of skin or nipple is a known complication of these procedures, although it is relatively rare.  You should know for sure within 5-7 days whether you will have necrosis or not.

Its normal to have some concerns prior to surgery and its great you are asking lots of questions in the lead up to your proposed surgery.  Necrosis or death of tissue is exceedingly rare and you should not be hesitant regarding surgery based on this complication.  The most important thing is to strictly follow your plastic surgeons post operative instructions to minimise the risk of complications.
