My teenage daughter suffers from sweaty hands and she is very self conscious. Have tried prescription topicals to no avail. Would this be a safe next step?

Answer: Botox for a 14 year old with hyperhidrosis of the palms I do not believe that this would be a problem. However, it should be noted that it involves multiple injections with small needles into the palms which can be painful. Topical anaesthetics should be used.

Answer: Botox for sweaty palms Botox is an excellent treatment option for certain subtypes of sweating (hyperhidrosis). Although it works most effectively for sweaty armpits, it can also be utilized on the palms. Your dermatologist might be willing to inject your daughter with botox - although treatments are uncomfortable they are tolerable. Discomfort can be diminished with a variety of techniques including using icing, liquid nitrogen cryotherapy or even vibration-based devices. Occasionally muscle weakness can develop, but luckily it's not permeant and in general still considered a very rare side-effect.
