Can a new crown create a change in my occlusion? What are your suggestions to solve this? (Photo)

I had a crown made with metal base and ceramic over on tooth #2. A few weeks later I had radiating pain on side of neck upper back and upper arm and my occlusion has changed and not back to normal, not touching on one side, When i open my mouth it is all crooked! (see picture). They had to grind my teeth multiple times to help with my bite and now the metal is showing off. I am now with a biological dentist but want to get a second opinion. Is this happenstance normal? What do you suggest next?
