This morning my porcelain crown in the lower back of my mouth had a small chip come off. i had a root canal and this crown done 1 1/2 years ago. What are my best options and an estimate of the cost. I appreciate any responses as I will be seeking a solution tomorrow. Thanking you all in advance!

As a cosmetic dentist in Los Angeles for over 25 years, I recommend you to have orthodontics, possibly invisalign to start, You may be ok to remove it within 6 months, ( need to see your dental records ) after you will be needing to see a Periodontist, gum specialist for contouring of your gums...
The build up is the foundation for the crown. If the foundation is intact upon removal of the fractured crown, then your dentist should just remake a new crown.
Go see the dentist, it should be an easy fix to adjust the crown. It is possible that when you were numb, you were not biting right. Make sure your dentist checks the bite in protrusive movement. My only concern is that your crown has metal in the back, and that is usually done when there is not...
