I am sorry to hear that, but this is not your job to do, you need a dentist to do that treatment.Even if your temporary is loose and you can take it off with your fingers it is best that you see your good dentist.Temporary crowns need to be cemented by your dentist with an appropriate temporary cement. If other than that you can run into host of other problems.At the last stage your dentist must check for complete removal of cement to prevent gum problems and check your bite on the temporary dental crown.

No reason to dissolve any cement.  You need to call your dentist, make an appointment,  and have them recement it for you.  If it is still slightly high it is easy for them to adjust the bite.  Don't try to do this on your own.
