How long does swelling take to subside after teardrop implants have been implanted?

I had 315cc, teardrop implants placed behind the muscle 25 days ago. I was told that teardrop implants take longer for the swelling to go down. Mine still look like the shape of torpedoes and are palpable. Is this normal?

Thank you for your question.  The short answer is that it depends.  Everyone heals differently, and it can take a few months for the swelling to subside completely. Generally swelling after breast augmentation takes about 2 weeks to resolve but can take a few months. The rate of swelling resolution is different for each person so there is really no set timeframe. Having said that, textured shelled implants do not lower. Swelling is different than position. Pictures would help.

Thanks for your question.  Swelling may decrease at different rate among people.  Most of swelling should decrease within 6 weeks.  Implants may take 6 months to settle. It is normal for swelling to take some time to subside, and every patient is different so it is hard to say exactly how long swelling will take to subside. There are many variables that affect the healing process.... skin laxity or tightness prior to surgery, size and placement of the implants. You should notice a decrease in swelling as your healing progresses.
