Thank you for your question. The best idea for you would be to seek a plastic surgeon with craniofacial experience. True trigonocephaly is usually treated early with a transcranial procedure and reshaping of the forehead. As an adult, depending on the severity, this approach can be utilized or alternatively masking procedures such as onlay implants and bone contouring. I have had good results for temporal hollowing with fat grafting but the other alternative is custom implants that can be designed to fill the hollowing on a permanent basis. As an adult the treatment of the sequelae of metopic craniosynostosis is going to be cosmetic camouflage not removal and reshaping of the bone. Temporal hollowing is best treated by standard or extended temporal implants placed on top of the muscle. This is a simple and permanent solution for temporal hollowing.
