Is having inverted nipples a bad thing?

i been having inverted nipples and i dont if its a bad thing or not i thought maybe when i hit the age of 13 or up it will come up because of puverty but now im 18 and it hasent come out ? what about if youre pregnant and you have to breast feed the baby how dose that work .?

Hello, there is nothing necessarily wrong with inverted nipples - many people can function normally including the ability to breastfeed.  New inversion of a nipple can be a sign of a breast problem but this does not sound to be the case with you, if they have been inverted since your early teens.

There is nothing wrong with having inverted nipples. There are different degrees of the inversion. I have a lot of godd information on my website. Sometimes breast feeding can be difficult and usualy you need a special nurse to instruct you. At age 18 thoug, i hope that you are a at least a few years from having to woirry about that.

No, having inverted nipples is definitely not a bad thing (that is unless the inversion happens suddenly over a short period of time which can be a sign of an underlying breast cancer). In your case, your nipples have always been inverted, which is not too uncommon a thing for women. As far as breast feeding, this may pose a challenge and you may need some assistance from a postpartum nurse to help you out. Alternatively, as your milk comes in and the breasts engorge, the nipples may evert naturally and you may have no problem at all. If the nipple inversion does not bother you cosmetically, then I suggest you simply leave things as is. If you are concerned about the way they look, however, the procedure to correct this is simple and can be done under local anesthesia in an office setting.
