Can these crows feet be treated? (photo)

Question

A few lines radiating from the corners of my eyes I could deal with but, as you can see, when I smile the crows feet radiate throughout my temple. I have a lot of scarring there from past cystic acne and thought maybe that has something to do with it? Is there anything that can be done about these? Thank you!

Yes both Botox and skin-texture treatments can help, depending on what’s causing the lines.

If the lines move and deepen when you smile, that’s mostly from the orbicularis oculi muscle, and a small amount of Botox around the outer eye can soften them.

If they stay visible at rest or are worsened by old acne scarring or skin laxity, you’ll get better results adding a skin-smoothing procedure such as microneedling, fractional laser (like Fraxel), or RF microneedling to rebuild collagen and even texture.

At least from the photo provided, it would appear that Botox would be the answer to the periorbital muscular component giving rise to the crow's feet.  A low viscosity, cohesive, malleable HA filler can be fanned underneath this area, in order to provide additional structural support to further smooth the area and diminish the lines when smiling. Both procedures can be performed at the same time or divided into two treatment sessions. If the latter, I would suggest the Botox treatment first. 
You would be wise to make sure to consult with a board certified cosmetic dermatologist filler expert and best of luck

Hi there. This looks like general volume loss and aging. The best place to start would be some Botox to relax the muscle around the eyes and in turn prevent these lines from forming. Then depending on your results and desired outcome, you could consider a dermal filler for added hydration and volume and a longer term result.

While many people can be treated with 3 injection points of neuromodulator (e.g. Botox, Dysport, etc), some people have lines/Crow's feet that radiate much further out and could benefit from 5-6 injection points. Best to see an expert physician injector (e.g. dermatologist) for optimal results & safety.

Botox is helpful to soften the appearance of crow's feet.  It may not totally address your concern due to the previous scarring you mentioned.  I encourage you to visit with an expert injector near you for an evaluation.  I've included a video that I hope you find helpful.
