I'm 41. Ive had monthly botox injections from my forehead to my cheeks for about 2 years. I didnt educate myself and it seems my provider isnt especially ethical. I stopped 8 months ago and my muscles have just now started moving again. I have so many wrinkles now. I know I'm 3 years older but I've never really had wrinkles and I was only getting them after the botox and then it was just chasing wrinkles. Will it ever improve?

Answer: What’s the cause of my wrinkles? Thank you for sharing your question and posting your photos. You have dynamic wrinkles (caused by movements as we age.) They can be improved by proper placement of Botox and use of lasers. Make an appointment for consultation with an experienced Oculoplastic Surgeon. Good luck!

Answer: Botox Question Hi! This is a great question and a common concern. First and foremost, monthly Botox injections are not recommended, therefore finding a provider who will properly educate you and know when not to inject, is of utmost importance and safety. Loading the muscles with too much neuromodulator can cause too much paralysis, which can take long to wear off. Another thing to consider is that the thickness of the skin declines as collagen production in our skin decreases as we age. This is seen as our skin becomes thinner as we age and more wrinkles appear. Botox is not the cause of more wrinkles in the skin, as it stops the skin from creasing and does not allow for further wrinkles to form. The thin skin you are seeing is likely a result of collagen decline and would be best treated with neuromodulator injections every 3-4 months, and collagen stimulating treatments such as RF microneedling and CO2 laser.
