Melasma needs a combination approach to get the best improvement and will need a series of treatments. In our practice, we combine Clear + brilliant, peels, microneedling/PRP, aerolase, and sometimes erbium laser (coollaser) to get the best results and can work for darker skin types. See an expert for a formal evaluation. Best, Dr. Emer
Venus Viva can help with smoothing skin color even on darker skin types. To get the most from the treatment though it should be combined with a good home care regimen and strict avoidance of the sun to the affected area. Hope that helps, Dr. Z
Good Day. Thank you for your question.Melissa can be improved, rarely resolved with nano-fractional RF.Combination approach is best:1. Sun block- so pigment is minimized worsening over time2. Skin bleaching- IS Clinical bleaching cream is best3. Mild chemical peels- trial and error for individual strength peel responses4. RF, micro dermal needling and platelet rich plasma (PRP) both skin resurfaces and improves the pigment5. LED lights may be of benefitIn summary, combination therapy is preferred since the melasma is difficult to achieve lightening and for the pigment improvement to persist over time.Have a wonderful day.
Venus Viva does work on melasma, but it requires multiple treatments. Sometimes I combine this with a melanin mask (similar to Cosmelan) as well. The two work really great together. We are fortunate to have 30 different laser and light sources and can compare the efficacy of these modalities. For tightening the neck I prefer Ultherapy, Thermacool CPT with total tip 1200 pulse tip, and pelleve. if there is a lot of skin damage and blood vessels and brown spots in addition to...
Viva is great for active acne and should be combined with microneedling. I often will have patients do a chemical peel immediately before and silkpeel/microdermabrasion 1 week after. Best, Dr. Emer.
Viva doesn't have any issues with hair as the treatment is radiofrequency and does not interfere. Best, Dr. Emer.
Thank you for the photos. In one of the photos, showing the forehead area, I can still see a lot of pinpoint crusting from the Venus Viva. Generally speaking after 4 days most (if not all) of the crusting should have cleared. Please discuss this with your surgeon. Venus Viva is a great tool to...
Acne prone and oily skin can be pre-treated with Retin A cream prior to Venus Viva treatments. I have my patients continue their Retin A until literally the night before the procedure. If the skin is very scaly and flaky I ask them to reduce the amount and frequency of retin a usage.I have been...
