Melasma needs a combination approach to get the best improvement and will need a series of treatments. In our practice, we combine Clear + brilliant, peels, microneedling/PRP, aerolase, and sometimes erbium laser (coollaser) to get the best results and can work for darker skin types. See an expert for a formal evaluation. Best, Dr. Emer
Venus Viva can help with smoothing skin color even on darker skin types. To get the most from the treatment though it should be combined with a good home care regimen and strict avoidance of the sun to the affected area. Hope that helps, Dr. Z
Good Day. Thank you for your question.Melissa can be improved, rarely resolved with nano-fractional RF.Combination approach is best:1. Sun block- so pigment is minimized worsening over time2. Skin bleaching- IS Clinical bleaching cream is best3. Mild chemical peels- trial and error for individual strength peel responses4. RF, micro dermal needling and platelet rich plasma (PRP) both skin resurfaces and improves the pigment5. LED lights may be of benefitIn summary, combination therapy is preferred since the melasma is difficult to achieve lightening and for the pigment improvement to persist over time.Have a wonderful day.
