My Pre-op stats, 42 yrs old, 107lbs, 5'3", 12cm BWD, 32A/B BA on 6/1/17 using Sientra textured Anatomical 350cc 10 days post-op: measured at 32DD at Nordstrom. I know the volume of the breast won't change and I know anatomicals don't really drop, but will they fluff (fuller on lower poles). Worry that I will end up at 32DDD or more. Wearing clothes, I don't look any different than before BA, but naked, I really like the look. Why?? Want professional opinion on how my BA looks 10 days postop?

Answer: Sientra 350cc Implant, will it drop and fluff? I'm 10 days post op. At only 10 days postop from breast augmentation, you are still very early in your recovery. You have a lot of swelling that will resolve over several weeks to months. The implants are positioned high and will drop to a more natural position over the next 3 - 6 months. I would recommend following up with your plastic surgeon with your concerns and questions. He/she is the best person to answer these questions. Good communication between patient and surgeon is very important both before and after surgery. Ziyad Hammoudeh, MD

Answer: Normal Recovery You are still very early in the recovery process and it is very normal for breasts to be high and tight this soon after surgery, especially since you had very small breasts to begin with. You look normal for this stage in the recovery. Since you are only 10 days out from your procedure, there is still a fair amount of swelling involved. This swelling can take up to 2-6 months to fully subside, which is why I suggest that my patients not go bra shopping or get sized until at least 6 weeks after their procedure because the size can decrease slightly with the healing process so I would not be concerned over them getting any bigger. Also, keep in mind that cup size can vary from manufacturer to manufacturer. In regards to your clothes not fitting any differently there are a lot of factors that affect this including what bras you used to wear or the tightness of your clothing so, there is no way to tell you why this is occurring. As far as the fluff that you were talking about, most implants "fluff" over time as your tissues expand to accommodate the implant. This occurs within 2-3 months following surgery but everyone is different and some people can take up to a year before the implants settle into their permanent position especially with textured anatomical implants. After your implants adjust into their permanent position the size should not change much. The bottom should fill up more after they fluff as well. Check with your surgeon to determine their recommendations.
