There should be no problem to have sculpsure following your hernia repair. There are 2 questions, however, that need to be discussed with your doctor. You first must make sure the hernia has not recurred and second, the amount of sensation you have following the hernia repair. If you are numb, you may not be able to feel the heat from the device.
You can have SculpSure after a hernia repair as long as it has not reoccured. When you are being evaluated for the procedure make sure you mention this medical history.
You should not have any issue with receiving SculpSure after a hernia repair. As long as you have not had reoccurence and you have feeling in the area. If there is no feeling in the area you want treated then the provider will not treat it. You must be able to feel the heat to make sure it is not too intense.
Make sure you share with your Sculpsure provider where the hernia was corrected with mesh. They will check for any residual hernia especially around the umbilical area. Performing Sculpsure after a hernia repair is typically not a problem but seek out the most experience Sculpsure provider in your area.
The physician who examines your abdomen before the SculpSure treatment will be able to tell if the muscles of the abdominal wall are healed together in their natural anatomical position. If there is any concern of a diastasis (separation) still existing between the muscle heads, then a special spacer can be used between the treatment frames. Since the SculpSure laser tapers the fat reduction, there is still a smooth fat reduction when the spacer is used.Dr Finkle also had a good point about normal sensation. We (Dr. Denkler and I) are really thrilled with our SculpSure results. Our patients are using it to jump start their New Years diets.
SculpSure can be performed after a hernia repair. The limiting factor is the feeling, or lack of feeling of the skin. If the area around the hernia repair is numb, then SculpSure should not be performed. You need sensation in the treated area to provide feedback during your SculpSure treatment.Good Luck!
please tell your provider where your hernia is located. if it is has not recurred, then should be fine. The heat from the Sculpsure will not penetrate through the mesh and it will not damage the mesh. They will avoid putting the paddles over the scar. plan 2 sessions of Sculpsuredavid berman md
You appear to be a great candidate for Sculpsure. You will need a minimum of 2 treatments per area and possibly more. You would also benefit from a skin tightening treatment post Sculpsure. The Venus Legacy is the technology that we use for skin tightening with great results. Best of Luck.
Thanks for sharing your question. I can appreciate your concern. Inflammation is the main mechanism, how Sculpsure facilitates the elimination of the treated fat. Preventing it from happening may alter the final results. One day of treatment with your medication, should not affect the final ...
You will typically notice results 12 weeks after a treatment. However, make sure you are consistent with your treatments, depending on the amount of fat per area.
