Finasteride: If I go cold turkey, Is there any risk?

Taking 1 mg finasteride a day is very effective and its side effects are not permanent. Its approved by fda for treatment of hair problems.

There's no reason to slowly decrease dosage or to just stop taking either. Either way the side effects will go away and your hair loss will 'catch up' to where it would be had you never taken it.

If you plan on stopping finasteride, there is no need to taper the dose.  However, within 6-8 months, any improvement in hair growth will disappear and your hair loss pattern will return to where it was when you started finasteride.
