Dr. Epstein was very courteous and helpful in explaining the hair implant procedure to me in detail, and also what to expect afterwards. Throughout the procedure, Dr. Epstein talked to me to evaluate and assure my comfort level. His medical staff was very knowledgeable and efficient in ensuring the procedures were completed in a timely manner. They were very hospitable and put me at ease. I recommend Dr. Epstein to anyone who needs a hair transplant. Thank you Dr. Epstein, for the new me! :D
My experience with Dr. Epstein was fantastic. During my consultation with Dr. Epstein I knew I would have him do the hair restoration procedure. He was very professional, friendly and caring. He answered all my questions, and was honest about the fact that I might not get the results I was looking for. I fully trusted him and he did his best during the procedure. Dr. Epstein's staff was also very caring and professional.
Excellent. Extremely professional and very talented. The hair transplant at the crown of my head was very successful. The follow up after the procedure and the post op instructions went very smoothly.
I have been to Dr. Epstein several times over past few years. I found him and the whole staff outstanding. Every question was answered and every concern fully addressed. The Doctors bedside manner and the attentive nature of the staff made my procedures a breeze. I would 100% recommend Dr. Epstein and his staff for anyone looking for hair loss treatments.
My experience with Dr Epstein was excellent! I am very fortunate that he is associated with Bosley's Virginia Beach office. The procedure, consisting of approximately 2400 hair plugs removed and transplanted was painless and as advertised the results were clear within six months of the procedure. Please note that I have medium coarse hair and that I was advised in my follow-up visit that my results were better than average, and that someone with finer hair might not be so lucky. Dr Epstein is very professional and also very down to earth and easy to talk with. I am very happy with my decision to go for a hair transplant and when combined with a loss of nearly 50 lbs last year due to diet and exercise, I look and feel at least 15 years younger than my chronological age.
OK, maybe not Geo Clooney, but wow, what a difference it has made. Over the course of several years I've had three transplant procedures with Dr Epstein. I still vividly remembery my anxiety before my first procedure...would I come out looking goofier than I did when I went in?Answer: Oh heavens no. Ed bring skill that can only come with experience. He is just great at this. The staff is wonderful...the whole place runs like a swiss watch. If you've ever thought about doing this, give thanks that one of the best practitioners is in Virginia and not too far from you. Take the next step. It will change your life.
Dr. Epstein was extraordinary in every way. Prior to the hair transplant procedure, he reviewed my options for treatment, and explained thoroughly what was involved with the procedure. He is very personable, and has an excellent "bedside manner". The procedure itself was nearly painless. The results of my transplant were outstanding, and better than I could have hoped for, given the degree of hair loss I've had.
There are a number of reasons your hair loss may progress while using minoxidil. If you have changed generic minoxidil brands in the past 6-12 weeks, there could be an efficacy issue, or you may add a second daily application . If you are not using finasteride, the effect of DHT on natural hair loss progression may now becoming evident. It sounds like you have significantly slowed down hair loss progression but it may be time to add other treatments including hair restoration surgery
I occasionally see a delay of 1-2 months longer than the expected growth at 3 months with prior procedures. Often the second transplant session growth is less dramatic than the initial procedure, and patients often interpret this as less growth.
It takes a minimum of 5-6 months to see photographic improvement using finasteride. It's very important to take photos when you start. Keep in mind that there are two goals: slowing down hair loss progression and improvement. About 50% of finasteride users will see more hair growth, and the earlier one starts it in their hair loss potential, the better results. In my 20 years experience prescribing finasteride, because it slows down hair loss progression for up to 90%, the majority of my patients using it have more hair than when they started.
I would not expect any issues with mile alcohol consumption after PRP. Sometimes alcohol can "thin" the blood, so drinking before a PRP session could result in mild bleeding or swelling.
Shedding of either the transplanted or native hairs can be experienced 3-5 weeks after a hair transplant.
