Pain 3 Weeks After the All on 4 on Lower Jaw?

Levels of discomfort vary but typically are minimal. There may be some swelling and discomfort a few days after your surgery. Swelling is a normal response in the healing process. Once swelling occurs it takes 7-10 days to subside. You should have implant checked ASAP

Severe pain after dental implant surgery is not common.  Most patients take pain meds only for few days , only if needed.  These implants need to be evaluated Asap.  

There is a high possobility of infection.  Did you also have bone grafting in any of these sites?

The pain you are describing is not from wearing a denture/ Prosthesis.  Although, the prosthesis might have contributed to the problem.   The surgeon might prescribe a different type of antibiotic to treat the infection. If pain/ infection does not resolve, the implant/ s have to removed. Replaced at a later time. 

The sooner the site evaluated/ treated , the better the out ome.

Hello! I’m sorry you are having these challenges! Do you have any other symptoms along with the pain like: fever, oozing and excessive bleeding? If so, it is likely you may have an infection. It is very hard to tell without a physical examination. You should have the surgical are examined ASAP to rule out any infection. In addition, your specialist should check to see if the implant is healing correctly, there is a chance it could be failing. Best of luck to you and I hope your issues are resolved soon.

Pain almost 3 weeks after dental implants is not normal.   If you are having this much discomfort then something needs to be addressed.  A failing implant or infected implant could cause this pain.  It seems as if your doctor knows what the issue is if he is possibly going to remove one of the implants.  All On Four, All On  Six, etc usually do not cause much discomfort either.  The usual discomfort is mild to moderate and lasts for a few days, sometimes up to a week.  Anything past this needs to be looked at closely. 

The short answer is this is not a good sign however sometimes the pain is from you wearing the temporary teeth and sometimes it is from the implant. I suggest not wearing teeth on the lower for a few days to see if the pain goes away... Good Luck

Pain this long after a procedure is extremely rare, and I am sorry to hear that its not getting better.  There are a number of questions that need to be asked:

1) are any of the implants moving? they should all be solid.

2) is the prosthesis properly adapted to the implants? slight movement in the prosthesis can cause pain, pressure on frail gum tissue.

3) is there an infection?

Pain with this type of procedure is unlikely because of the implants, though implants do sometimes fail to heal with bone and get rejected, this can be an early failure of one of the implants, and should be relatively easy to identify.  Removing a failed implant and replacing with another is something that is done and can be managed by someone well trained.

My Best advise is to hang on, if you picked the right Dr. for the job then stay the coarse and all will turn out well and be managed.
 

If the implants were not done by a certified Oral Surgeon, then I suggest you see one ASAP for a 2nd opinion before you have the implants removed.
