- lips border dissappearing - white line around the lips - border skin becomes itchy, very dry and flaky, peeling - keeps happening for years - vaseline and oil didn't really work - i rarely lick my lips, i don't think that's the problem :(

That’s why men and women commonly experience dry, thin, flaky skin with age. The volume that your lips naturally lose with age can also leave the border of your lips undefined. In addition to staying hydrated and investing in high-quality moisturizing creams, lip fillers can plump and sculpt your lips. I perform a lot of lip injections with fillers such as juvederm and it works great. Many times I need to put more in one side than the other to attempt to even out the vermillion border (The red line of the lip). This helps provide more symmetry at times.For patients looking for a more long lasting result, I recommend fat grafting. That is, using your own bodies fat to make your lips naturally look more shapely. The bonus is that the results last many many years.
In general, I avoid using permanent prosthesis because I find that the lips are such dynamic and sensitive structures, the end result is not natural.

Hi there. You can definitely try lip filler for enhancement and try to stay hydrated with minimum 2l water a day. Continue the Vaseline and do a regular blood work to check for any underlying conditions.

Areas that are moist and have skin on skin contact can cause irritation. That condition is called angular cheilitis.  Try alternating mild antifungal and anti-inflammatory steroid cream.

Consider following up with your primary care doctor or a dermatologist.  prescription medication‘s may be more effective than over-the-counter.
