I was burned by Fraxel laser on my forehead 3 years ago. When the burns cleared, I noticed a real improvement in my scarring and pigmentation. I'd like to do a laser again, but I feel that after the bad experience, Fraxel is too aggressive. Is it risky to try Laser Genesis?
Answer: Laser Genesis is very gentle... Fraxel is a much more aggressive treatment than Laser Genesis, but it sounds like you had a good result after healing. Laser Genesis is very gentle and works well to treat acne, pore size, fine lines and can improve scars. While you should see improvement after a series of approximately 6 treatments, you would probably see an even bigger result with one more Fraxel---especially if your concerns are scaring and pigmentation.

Answer: Laser Genesis - Not comparable to Fraxel Fraxel is a "go to" for acne scarring. Without seeing photos, it's hard to tell if your Fraxel response was burns or an acceptable response based on the treatment levels. Unless your provider prepared you for the response to an aggressive treatment, you may have been unpleasantly surprised. (I only make this comment based on your mention that you had good scar and pigment improvement, but not a negative final outcome.)Laser Genesis is very mild and likely won't provide a great deal of improvement in acne scarring. It's one of the gentlest lasers on the market. If you have discernible scarring or pigmentation that you want to treat, then going up the laser ladder will be a better option.

Answer: Laser Genesis for sensitive skin Hi, Thank you for your question. From your question and the information that you provided, I infer that your burns were minor and did not leave any permanent scarring. Laser Genesis (Nd-YAG 1064) is a rather gentle laser and is quite safe in the right hands. Laser Genesis can be administered at time intervals from 2 - 4 weeks between treatments depending on your response. Hope that this helps. Good luck.
