I had lower blepharoplasty done over 1 yr ago. Discussed to remove ONLY skin via transcutaneous incision. I was concerned with intense swelling after 1 mth, 2 mths... Surgeon said all was normal. At 4 mths, I got a 2nd opinion from reknowned opticoplastician who told me my pretarsal muscle looked partly removed and nothing could be done. Apparently this is a common mtechnique muscle and skin flap technique but all it did for me was create bulgy lower eyelids and shatter my smile. Help!

Answer: Lower eyelid skin removal is not typically helpful for wrinkling of the undereyes.
It appears that you have a condition know. As eyelid ptosis or droopy eyelids. In person consultation with a board certified plastic or oculoplastic surgeon is recommended. Good luck.
Yes, you would benefit from an upper blepharoplasty. You may also want to consider a lower blepharoplasty at the same time.

An open brow lift and upper lid blepharoplasty would address both concerns with minimal scarring and quick recovery. It can be done in the office setting with IV sedation. A lower lid transconjunctival bleph can also be done to correct lower lids bags.
