Ptosis after chin implant: fat injections or botox? (Photo)

Question

I got a chin implant 1 year ago which was put in through inside of my mouth. Now, when i smile or open my mouth, I have noticed a double chin type thing forming which is only visible from the side. When i stick my bottom jaw out and smile, it doesnt happen, but with my jaw naturally (which is naturally abit recessed) there is the line. What are my options? 1. Should i get belkyra or kybella fat dissolving injections? 2. Should i get botox on my lower lip to freeze it?

Your chin is quite pointed with a deep labiomental  angle.  In some ways the chin implant made this worse and created a slight witches chin.  Perhaps a better procedure would have been a jaw  advancement.

I don’t think it was the tip of your chin that needed augmentation but rather the body of the mandible itself was small.

Attempts of fat removal will only cause problems and will not fix your concern.

You can try Botox but it’s important for providers to know the anatomy and which muscle is causing the soft tissue of your chin to be depressed when making facial expressions.

If you want to take a more formal approach then have a few consultations with local oral surgeons or plastic surgeons with cranial facial surgery backgrounds.

I question if you were an ideal candidates for a Chin implant.

It may be a good idea to get an  xray of the position of the implant since that may be influencing the contours you see.
