My hairline is very high and uneven. The forhead bone itself is shaped weirdly, right in the middle I have a horizontal bump that is prominent, especially in certain lighting. Can any procedures fix this?
Answer: Hairline advancement, FH contouring I know the terminology with FH reduction vs hairline advancement is confusing; when I discuss forehead reduction it is more in the bony element where we reduce the brow ridge or a bone bump (exostosis) to make the forehead smooth or more feminine. We do this by contouring the bone and reducing its volume. FH reduction is also considered as repositioning the hairline so you show less of your forehead skin. For you, both hairline advancement and forehead contouring to reduce those bony bumps would help. It is right in the midfrontal region where you overproject your frontal bone and you see more of the curvature that it creates because the hairline is too far back. The net effect of showing less FH skin from hairline being further forward and the reduction which would remove the bony prominence and thereby the light reflex you are seeing.

Answer: Forehead shaping and hairline advancement In order to achieve improvement in tall hairline and forehed contour, you will need an open approach by means of extended hairline incision. This will allow surgeon to contour your forehead bones to a certain degree and to advance your hairline for probably 2-2.5 cm down. In person consultation with a board certified plastic surgeon with experience in this type of procedures is recommended. Good luck.

Answer: Forehead contouring and scalp advancement The procedures that will help you are actually shaping the bone of the head and bringing the hairline forward. This is done in about 90 minutes as an outpatient procedure. I'd recommend, based on the the low density hair I see that you consider hair grafting as well which can be done in the same week. Between these two procedures you should see a great improvement.

Answer: Forehead Reduction Thank you so much for your question, Nina! You're perfect candidate for Forehead Reduction and bone shaving surgery. Forehead Reduction is an easy surgery known as hairline lowering surgery, that can lower your forehead down to 4 cm and help balance the proportions of your face. Whereas forehead bone shaving surgery involves shaving down the bone above the eye area and frontal sinus area using a contouring bur. The bone can be reduced by approximately 3-5 mm, and the incision is made behind the hairline, making it invisible. You totally can benefit from these procedures. Hope it helped!
