Would I be a candidate for a regular tummy tuck or should I prepare for an extended tummy tuck? (photos)

Eclectic570526, it looks like you had great success with your upper abdomen and waist liposuction. Based on our photos a full abdominoplasty may be suitable for you as opposed to an extended. All of the skin and fat below your belly button would be removed. the extension, if chosen, would serve to tighten the flanks/love handle area to reduce skin looseness and its tendency to lap over a waistband. You may have weakening of your abdominal muscles which would require tightening that layer, but it is also possible that you have abdominal herniation. It will be best to wait for your evaluation in December for a full and thorough evaluation., Hope this helps!

Thank you for your pictures and questions. There is no question that you need maximal skin removal. And to be honest, there is not really a specific or distinct difference between a "standard" and an "extended" tummy tuck in my opinion. It is all customized to a patient's needs and how far one needs to extend the incision to correct and remove skin laxity/redundancy. In your case, I would suspect that to remove the maximal skin, the incision might need to be carried out past the hip or you might even be best served with a body lift for additional posterior skin removal. Only an exam and discussion with your surgeon will tell for sure.

A full tummy tuck will most likely be sufficient for you. An extended tummy tuck would be recommended if you’d like to target your sides and back. However, it may not be needed depending on your goals.

In person exam is essential. Based on limited photos- you appear to be a good candidate for an Extended Abdominoplasty. In the right experienced hands you can expect a very pleasing result. I suggest that you seek an experienced Board Certified PS and review all the details of the procedure during your consultation

You should be prepared for an extended tummy tuck since you have a large hanging pannus. You may even benefit from a circumferential lift depending on how much excess skin is hanging on your back.

Thank you for your question. You look like an amazing candidate for a tummy tuck procedure. This will allow your Surgeon of choice to tighten your abdominal wall muscles, remove the extra skin and get you as flat as possible. Some Surgeons will do some liposuction if needed in the flank area. Although you had some done in the past, you may want some additional liposuction after the tummy tuck. Hello! No need for an Extended Tummy Tuck!! It is very easy to se where the end of your scar will be after surgery. The fold on your tummy extends laterally and that is basically where the scar should end……… In some cases we can even do a scar smaller.
I’m sure you will get great results without an extended tt!
