Weight gain post buccal fat removal, did I ruin my results?

I’m 6 weeks post buccal fat removal and I gained a few pounds within the last two weeks. My face appears chubbier. Are my results ruined? If I were to lose weight would I have a chiseled look or would it go back to a chubby look?

The results of buccal fat removal for correction of chubby cheeks are permanent. However, if a patient gains weight after surgery the results of the buccal fat removal can be masked. The reason is that the weight gain will make the remaining fat of the face to increase in size. Therefore, fat around the area where the buccal fat pads were located could grow and therefore kinda "ruin" the results of the buccal fat removal.

Thank you for your question. Typically a drastic amount of weight gain or loss can skew your results one way or another. I believe if you lose the few pounds you gained, you should still be able to see benefit from your procedure. A large amount of loss or gain exceeding 10 or more pounds could really change your results, but anything less should be fine.
