Sore throat after Kybella

Question

I had kybella done a month ago, for some reason on week #4 after the treatment I startedhaving sore throat everyday. Is this a normal reaction of kybella or it is something I should be concerned about. I hope you can help me. Thank you!

In my experience, a sore throat is not a side effect from Kybella.  As Kybella uses deoxycholic acid, a naturally occurring molecule in the body that helps break down fat, it would target fat cells and not affect your throat 4 weeks after treatment.  That being said if you are concerned about your sore throat, there is no substitute for an in-person evaluation with a doctor to determine and treat what is causing your sore throat.

Hello! I do not believe the sore throat is a side effect of Kybella 4 weeks after injections.  I would see your primary care doctor for an evaluation to rule out other medical causes such as a virus, strep throat, etc. etc.  Best of Luck!
