Bodytite scars. It is now six months after Bodytite and the scars are still there. Does anyone else have this problem? I knew it would take up to a year to see the tightening affect, but not to be left with scars. What can be done to remove scars and should this be done by the same doctor ? Has anyone else had this problem?
Answer: Why do I still have scars after six months having Bodytite on my legs? How do I get rid of them? Hello. Great question. The pictures are not very reliable to make an evaluation. But, it seems as it is a hyperpigmentation of the skin. Persons with darker skin tend to have a more noticeable scar. If the is the case, I will suggest waiting a few more months for the scar to fade away. However, if you want immediate treatment, I suggest consulting with your surgeon as he knows you best. If concerns persist, please contact a board certified plastic surgeon.

Answer: Hypertrophic Scars -- Vascular Lasers (Yellow laser, PDL, VBeam, Excel V), Lasers (CO2, Erbium, Fraxel), Microneedling/PRP The scar is a bit difficult to see in the photograph; a formal evaluation would be best to determine the best course of treatment. Generally speaking, scars like these can be improved with vascular lasers (Yellow laser, VBeam, Excel V), fractional lasers (Fraxel, Erbium, CO2), microneedling with platelet-rich plasma (PRP), and silicone-based scar gels w/ growth factors. See an expert. Best, Dr. Emer.

Answer: Scars after bodytite Scarring at the entry points of liposuction or any underneath the skin tightening devices can be a problem in some patients. This can be more of a problem with dark skinned patients and on certain areas of the body like the back. Scars are best prevented by good skin care early. After scars have developed, topical treatments such as silicone gels may be helpful, but often, laser treatment may be necessary to lessen the appearance of these. In your case a vascular laser or IPL laser would be the best option to reduce the color of the scars first. After that, the texture can be addressed with lasers like fraxel or resurfx. Best of luck.

Answer: Scars Hello, and thank you for your question! Scars will last for about a year or two, unless you decide to get a lasering procedure on the affected areas. Multiple laser treatments will most likely be needed in order to achieve optimal results. You can go to your surgeon or another surgeon depending on your comfort level. They may tell you to wait until the scars are healed until you can get the lasering done. Please see my attached link which has more information on my surgical suite. Please be sure to see a board-certified plastic surgeon you feel comfortable with. Best of luck! James L.
