2 yrs post op, I have a breast implant displacement. In the meantime what can I use ice or heat?

I generally don't recommend ice for breast patients as the implant is so far from the skin surface it does little good nor is it helpful after the point of maximum swelling, after the first 3 days.Discuss this with your surgeon and follow his directions!#iceaftersurgery#breastaugmentation#BA

While this forum is no excuse or substitute for an in face consultation, ice or heat will either give you frostbite or burns respectively.  It. Sounds like you have an enlarged pocket for what ever reason.  In my experience the treatment is surgical with repair of the capsule and support with SERI mesh or dermal matrix.  You may want to see several plastic surgeons in consultation before proceeding.  Good luck, Dr. Schuster in boca raton

I don't think you will have  to worry about trying to adjust the breast  with a bra or support or massaging - I don't  believe your effort will make a big difference in adjusting the implant position.  What you will have to consider, unfortunately, will be to redo the breasts with creation of a new breast pocket bilaterally or using  a piece of Alloderm or Seri made by Alloderm to stabilize the position of the implants, preventing the displacement that you are now experiencing.You should ask your Plastic Surgeon about this.Good luck to you.Frank Rieger M.D.  Tampa Plastic Surgeon
