I was born without my immunoglobulin A. I wasn't aware until I got a bad infection in my lungs and double pneumonia. They ran tests and found out that I have an IGA deficiency. But besides occasional uti's or gi track infections I do not have any real medical issues from this.

Thank you for your question. There are no indications that breast implants trigger immune responses, but as with any surgery, there is a chance for infection. My best advice would be to consult with a specialist plastic surgeon and let them know of your condition and your concerns. They can go over your medical history and talk with your immunologist to make sure you are medically cleared to undergo the procedure as safely as possible. Good luck!

I think that the LTT has proven to be a useful test for the diagnosis of drug hypersensitivity reactions and helped to better understand possible reactions. I would ask my immunologist to perform this test and discuss the out come of it before proceeding with breast enhancement.
