I recently had a breast lift (lollipop scar) after breastfeeding 2 children and now I am unexpectedly expecting again. My surgeon says he cut underneath my breasts, folded the tissue under and sutured it higher up on my chest muscles. Is this standard? Would this have cut/damaged my milk glands/ducts? (My surgeon didn't give me a clear answer.) I realize any breast lift can impair lactation, but would this technique put me at greater risk? I still have full sensation on my breasts/nipples.
