I'm 35 and I lately I've noticed a loss of facial volume, and my face and neck appear to be merging into one shapeless blob. I also notice lines when I smile. I don't know that they're wrinkles because they disappear when I stop smiling. What are my options to look about 10 years younger? I get Juvederm and Botox, but the results don't last as long as I would like. My computer isn't allowing me to upload a photo at the moment, but I will if I get a chance.
Answer: Facelift May Be an Option — Here's How You Know Thanks for your question. If a facelift is done optimally, it can be repeated multiple times over your lifetime without fear of looking over-operated. However, repeated "mini facelifts," in which the tissues are not released and elevated, will result in the more mobile lower face getting lifted tighter than the more firmly positioned midface, which does not look natural. Therefore when there is enough relaxation, which can occasionally occur in your 30s particularly if your weight has fluctuated, a facelift can be very effective in rejuvenation. That being said, it is only in the exceptional situation that I would recommend a facelift at such a young age. I would recommend consulting with more than one surgeon who has extensive experience, and they should show you lots of before-and-after pictures of younger patients so you can get a realistic idea of what to expect. Good luck with your decision!

Answer: What is the Best Age for a Facelift A person’s age is best guessed by the appearance of their face. If you feel that your face does not reflect how young you feel inside, you may be a candidate for a facelift.During your #consultation, your skin texture and elasticity, as well as your underlying skin structure and your facial bone structure will be evaluated. Based on this evaluation, your board certified plastic surgeons will create a custom surgical plan, detailing specific techniques and recommendations to meet your goals. In doing so, he or she should be sure to have a full understanding of what results you expect. If you are not a #candidate, your surgeon can make other suggestions to address your concerns and objectives.Patients who desire facial rejuvenation that is affordable, quick, and effective should consider the Lite-lift™. Like the Life-Style™ facelift, this is a modified facelift that can be performed in the office with a local anesthetic and improve signs of aging around the neck, jawbone and lower face. These procedures are not "Thread-lifts" or "String-lifts". We do not use the "barbed" sutures employed in these other lifting operations. The Lite-lift™ uses longer lasting techniques that are discussed below. Because the incisions are limited, there is less bruising, swelling and healing time for most patients. Many patients can be back to work in one to two weeks looking rested and more youthful. The best candidates for #LiteLift are patients 35-60 years old with early changes of the lower face and the neck. Older patients who cannot or do not wish to have a longer operation or general anesthetic can be improved with a Lite Lift™.

Answer: 35 is probably too young for facelift. It would be highly exceptional for someone age 35 who is otherwise healthy to benefit from a facelift. Posting a photograph would help.

Answer: Facial rejuvination in 30s Thank you for your question. This is a difficult question to answer without photos or a physical examination. Everyone ages differently. Some people have great genes and look 10-20 years younger than their chronological age and others the opposite. Environmental factors will also play a big role such as sun exposure, stress, nutrition, etc. If this is something that bothers you, you should see a facial plastic or general plastic surgeon to give you a detailed examination and review your options. Wanting to look 10 years younger is a reasonable request. All the best!

Answer: Facelift At A Young Age If you have true facial fat atrophy and jowls you may be a candidate for early facial rejuvenation. One can do a true “Lift” and “Fill” facelift with central facial fat compartment rejuvenation and of the deep SMAS layers. This should be done in the hands of a Board Certified Plastic Surgeon with expertise in facial rejuvenation and who understands the science of aging.
