What are the effects of traveling after Rhinoplasty?

Thanks for the question. You should be able to go on vacation by 3-4 weeks after your surgery. But this is valid only with assuming postoperative recovery is uneventful. If any unexpected incident happens in your treatment process, this time can be extended or shortened. I wish you all the best.

This is a very common question.There are 2 reasons.1. RIsk of Bleeding while in the aircraft 2. Risk of sinus blockage ( due to the swelling) and the resulting ear pain So, you should not fly after Rhinoplasty, septoplasty, Turbinate reduction, nose job surgery.as the risk of bleeding  due to the pressure changes and the dry air. Although the risk may not be too high, if it occurs on a long haul flight, it can be distressing and or dangerous.I recommend that you do not fly for 2 weeks after Nose Surgery.All the best

I'm frequently asked this question. When I do a rhinoplasty on a patient from other parts of the US or distant countries I usually instruct them to stay locally for 6 days after surgery so I can provide good post-op care and remove the cast and stitches when necessary.
