Hi I am 22 weeks Post Op from having Motiva 400cc Silk Surface Round Full Projection Under Muscle. I had slight asymmetry prior and Surgeon didn’t think it was a concern for uplift. My Right breast(my smaller) still looks completely different in size to my left my right pinches and is uncomfortable in armpit area My right however I can see and feel the implant has not dropped as much as my left I have empty Breast tissue in both at the bottom and when I lean my right is so noticeably smaller.
Answer: Post op breast augmentation Hello thereYou are still relatively early in your recovery but ultimately it is difficult to comment without seeing you in person and assessing your tissues. You have had top quality implants and given your start off appearance you do not have a bad result at all - it is also quite normal to have asymmetry in healing and indeed with the final result (especially given your initial asymmetry). Please do allow things to settle down for another few months and follow advice but you should probably go back to discuss things with your surgeon. There are two issues here you are suggesting - your symmetry and the position of the implants. I agree that your pre-op photos suggest minimal asymmetry but if the symmetry is a concern now then obviously it would be possible to try and improve this. Whilst you may have wanted a sub muscular pocket pre-operatively, there is also an option to change this too but do discuss this with your surgeon.Good luck!

Answer: Breast asymmetry Dear Kimler, women’s breasts have some degree of asymmetry. Some may be more noticeable than others. If you have breast asymmetry before breast augmentation surgery, there is a great chance that this will exhibit right after the surgery. If the asymmetry becomes more noticeable after breast augmentation surgery, a revision may be needed to correct the asymmetry. In most cases, the revision involves correction in both breasts. For example, large breasts can be reduced to a more manageable size, but the amount of reduction might differ between each breast if one happens to be naturally larger than the other. The same can be said if a person wants to augment their small breasts to a larger size: one might be augmented more than the other. Also, you should wait until after 6 months when your implants have completely dropped and fluffed into their final position. You should discuss your concerns with your plastic surgeon. Make sure your surgeon understands your goals. Answer: Options following breast augmentation Many thanks for your questions and for supplying such thorough photographs. It is always difficult to be absolutely certain without examining you in person but, from your photographs, you do look as if your implants are sitting too high. At 22 weeks post-op, I think they're very unlikely to drop significantly and certainly not enough to fill out the lower pole. Looking at your preoperative photographs, I don't think an uplift was absolutely necessary (though it would have been an option) but I think the sub- muscular pockets have been made to high and are not allowing the implants to drop into the empty lower poles. I would also slightly question the use of the sub- muscular pocket in your case. I know plenty of surgeons who put all of their implants underneath the muscle but I really don't think it was necessary in your case and will undoubtedly be contributing to the reluctance of your implants to settle properly. Unfortunately, I think this is going to need revision surgery to correct it and I think you should speak to your surgeon about that.

Answer: Recommendation Hello. Thank you for your inquiry and congratulations on your surgery! It is important to have an in-person medical assessment regarding this issue as it is difficult to determine virtually. Continue to update your doctor in the matter and follow their post-op protocol. It is crucial to get cleared by your doctor before engaging in specific physical activity before the 3 month healing period has ended as the healing stage is important for healthy results. It generally takes around 6 months to a year to see your final results. Your tissues will take time to relax and allow your implants to "Drop and Fluff" settling into place. Should a revision cross your mind, it is best to wait at least 6 months to a year before doing so. Our tips for recovery following breast augmentation are to wear a supportive sports bra for 3 months post-operative and refrain from lifting anything heavier than 10 lbs for 3 weeks as we don't want any strain at your incision sites. Make sure to keep the area of your stitches clean by cleansing with hydrogen peroxide daily. Showering is encouraged! But, no sitting in water for 2 weeks following surgery (no baths, hot tubs, pools etc.). Please note that this response does not substitute patient-doctor relationship. We welcome any and all patients seeking advice to come in for a complimentary consultation available for limited time only. During the COVID-19, we are offering complimentary online consultations as well as in-office consultation with social distancing and masks. Procedure done in-hospital private surgical facility while taking covid-19 precautions. We utilize UV-light to clean the air of viruses and bacteria during our consultations and surgery.
