Open wound at T intersection? (Photos)

Question

Post 4 weeks from breast aug and lift and have been on contact for 1 week now on antibiotics and terrasil and as the two other open wounds are closing but slowly the concern now is the wound getting larger at the T intersection. My PS doesn't seem concerned and said this will heal with time. Is this normal?

The t-junction is the area with the most tension and it is not uncommon for the wound to break down in that area. It will heal with time and it is important that you keep it clean.
I would recommend that you schedule to be seen by your surgeon for specific wound care instructions.

I wouldn’t say that breakdown in this is common but it is certainly something we all see from time to time and should be comfortable treating.  If there is good soft tissue coverage within the wound over the implant, I would look after this with careful dressing care. The risk with open wounds in these cases is, of course, implant exposure or infection.  As long as you have close follow up with your plastic surgeon, he/she should be able to look after this for you.
