PRP and injectables like botox and sculptra are unlikely to cause blindness even if injected into an eye as they are more "liquid" and less likely to occlude the blood vessels that supply the eye. HOWEVER, there is always a risk when injecting ANYTHING around the eye of blindness and other eye complications. Please see an expert and try cannula injections if you are considering treatment for more safety. Best, Dr. Emer.
PRP is extremely safe since it's a component of your own blood. Blindness is a very rare but real risk which occurs when hyaluronic acid or other fillers occlude a blood vessel.
PRP should not cause blindness as it is a blood based plasma product, so even if it did get go into a blood vessel it is not a foreign substance. There is no data on it's safety profile for use with injections actually into the eyeball. However, anytime there are injections performed around the eye there are inherent risks involved, so make sure you research your treatments and providers thoroughly before proceeding with any procedures.
PRP is a natural product of your own blood. There are no side effects from injecting PRP into your body assuming sterile technique is used to perform the procedure.

Hello, Ideally a patient should not drink any kind of alcohol at least 2 days prior to PRP as this can increase the risk for bruising and bleeding. Cheers from Dallas!
The treatment is likely the same, although there can be differences in the quality of processing of the PRP. The quality of the PRP depends on the type of process used after the blood is drawn, not the credentials of the person doing the treatment.
