I am 27 years old and was diagnosed with AGA/FPHL, as well previously mild telogen effluvium. I am on spiro, yazl, estrogel, and I take iron supplements. I have been using rogaine for about 1.5 years. Over the past month I've experienced tingling/itchiness on my scalp, and noticed a slight increase in hair fall, including thicker hairs that were growing in due to rogaine. Could this be my cycle still trying to get back on track, or a sign that my hairloss is increasing/TE is present again?
Answer: Understanding Hair loss and hair loss treatment options: hair transplant, prp and progesterone This needs an in-person evaluation. I suggest seeing a hair loss expert now to evaluate and go over your condition and provide you information about your best treatment options. There are great non-invasive options like prp/progesterone and/or hair transplantation. See an expert. Best, Dr. Emer

Answer: Cycling TE vs FPHL? Subdermal Depo injection of PRP; Englewood Cliffs New Jersey In in my opinion you need an in-person consultation. One needs to review closely the history of the hair loss and a good examination including microscopic evaluation will be helpful. You will probably need blood work. One needs to determine if you have cycling telogen effluvium or miniaturization and female pattern hair loss or both. Often the telogen effluvium can unmask the female pattern hair loss. The tingling and itching can be from the use of Rogaine ,a symptom of increased activity of hair loss inflammation or some other etiology. It needs to be controlled. Your hair loss expert will come up with a diagnosis and treatment plan.
