Mole removal begins with a comprehensive examination and consultation to determine the likelihood of a mole being worrisome. Excisional and incisional biopsies are reserved for suspicious moles. But it’s good news that most moles are not problematic and are only cosmetic, thus leading to the option of scarless or non-surgical mole removal with lasers and RF and plasma. I suggest vascular laser and some resurfacing to get improvement.  Please see an expert for treatment options, someone trained in laser and scars.  Best, Dr. Emer.

There are a few options but they would depend on an in person exam. If it is just red, then a laser would likely be helpful. If there is some bulk or firmness, a resurfacing laser or further steroid injections may be helpful. There is also the option to cut out the area again so it heals in a small line rather than the circle you currently have. Best of luck
