In California the maximum legal limit for outpatient liposuction is five liters of aspirate. Skin elasticity can also be a limitation. Choosing the best surgeon to perform the liposuction is much more important than the total amount removed.
Thanks for your question. Without an examination, it is really difficult to say what would helpyour specific situation. I would suggesta consultation with a Board Certified Plastic Surgeon to further discuss youroptions.
This limit is 5 liters. Keep in mind, Liposuction is not a weight loss procedure, rather it is for sculpting and defining and removing problem areas that cannot be removed with weight loss and diet / exercise alone. For best results, I recommend a hi definition procedure like VASER liposuction. I use VASER HI DEF with ThermRF and fat grafting to get the most fat removal, skin tightening, contour and definition. This combination will give you the most toned result. I recommend getting a formal evaluation with a hi definition physique expert. Best, Dr. Emer
Dear Agingandyoung, plastic surgeons usually don't remove more than 5 liters of fat at one session. That is the top limit for a safe liposuction. Actually, most of plastic surgeons don't go near that limit as the chance of complications is higher. Daniel Barrett, MD, MHA, MSCertified, American Board of Plastic Surgery Member, Am. Thank you for your question. While you can liposuction several areas at once there is a limit to how much fat can be removed safely. Risks from liposuction increase significantly when over 5 liters of fat are suctioned out. We usually stay below this limit for patient safety. We’ve found that we’re able to achieve dramatic improvements for our patients with 2 to 4 liters of liposuction, depending on their needs.
Yes the Plastic Surgeon should put a limit how many fat can remove. After an evaluation he/she can make a decision. Some surgeons feels 5 litters is the limit, other think the 10% of your weight.
Hello and thank you for your question. This should be discuss in a personal consultation to have a complete understanding of the procedure meaning its benefits and risk. There is a limit for liposuction and it will all depend on the extent of your procedure, weight and other varieties.I Recommend you to seek for a board certified plastic surgeon. Hope this can be of help and Good Luck!
Rules vary from state to state but in Florida, only 3000 cc of settled fat can be removed at one time and if lipo is done with ANY other procedure, the limit drops to 1000 cc of settled fat.
The generally agreed amount is 5 liters or a little over 5 quarts. This is because that amount of fat removal causes fluid shifts in the body. Those fluid shifts are the dangerous problem. There are surgeons who do larger volumes but why take chances with your health for something that is elective. You can always come back again and do more.
Thank you for the question! The general rule is that you cannot remove more than 5 liters of fat during a single liposuction session. As long as your plastic surgeon follows this rule, he or she can safely treat multiple areas in one session. However, you should definitely consult with your plastic surgeon because the extent of your surgery will depend on your weight and other factors to be determined after an in-person exam and review of your medical history. An in-person exam with a board certified plastic surgeon is always the best way to fully assess your needs and address your concerns. Best of luck!
Anemia or low red blood cell count will interfere with healing, especially after a surgical procedure. I would advise correcting the anemia BEFORE the procedure. Elective cosmetic procedures should only be performed under ideal circumstances, no exceptions.Good Luck!
No, testesterone shouldn't negatively impact your final results, but I recommend following up with your Doctor about their protocol regarding testosterone after your procedure. You may still have some swelling, which can last 3-6 months after your procedure. I recommend adding hyperbaric ox...
Thank you for asking about your liposuction. One would need a photo to see what you mean by back dimpling. If it is a deep crease - liposuction will soften it and the crease can also be released during liposuction. This usually corrects the problem. If you mean multiple small dimples throughout...
