I already got a revision to fix the dent on the side of my butt but it's still there. I spent so much more eh already and I just want to have it fixed. What are my options ?
Answer: BBL Revisions Hello and Great Question. I appreciate the time you are spending researching this procedure. My name is Dr. Matthew J. Nykiel. I am a Board Certified Plastic Surgeon, a Fellowship Trained Cosmetic Surgeon, and a Butt Augmentation Specialist. I think your options depend on the reason this has happened: 1) Did some of the fat not take? 2) Is this more of a bony asymmetry difference that is being seen and simply needs more on one side? 3) Or is this from "tight" connections to the skin (similar to cellulite) that is not allowing for the volume expansion. I believe you have options, but the options depend on what is causing the problem: 1) More fat transfer 2) Medical Grade Filler 3) Loosening of the tight connective tissues causing the problem. I hope that helps! Best of Luck! Matthew J. Nykiel, MD#TopREALSELFDoctor#CoreREALSELFDoctorButt Augmentation SpecialistLiposuction SpecialistBoard Certified Plastic Surgeon

Answer: A year and a half after BBL, I have a dent on the side of my butt. This is after my revision. What can I do? Thank you for the question and photos. Based on these limited view photos, I'm not sure which area you are referring to. It seems like you are slightly bent forward and what I see is a flat posterior buttock, a large roll of fat on the lateral lower buttock, and an over suctioned area at the buttock/thigh junction. An in person examination by a board certified plastic surgeon experienced in advanced body sculpting techniques would be needed to see what improvement can be achieved. If you trust your surgeon talk to him/her or seek second opinions. Good luck.

Answer: A year and a half after BBL, I have a dent on the side of my butt. This is after my revision. What can I do? Sometimes a dent cannot be corrected to the extent that is desired by surgeon and patient alike. There is a certain resistance to change in tissues that can be responsible.

Answer: Dent in the buttocks Most good plastic surgeons will do revisions without charging the patient. The dent or uneven contour that you have may be due to uneven fat transfer or loss of grafted fat. It may also be due to connective tissue fibers that hold the skin tight to the muscle layer. These are the same connective tissue fibers that give some women cellulite. Cellulite is caused by connective tissue fibers that connect the skin to the muscle layer and does not allow the skin to expand. People who have these often will have flat or indented areas because the areas around them will not tolerate increased volume from the fat transfer. the connective tissue will continue to pull the skin in towards the muscles To me it looks like there were some improvement from the revision. Sometimes fat transfer needs to be done more than once to get the best results. The key is to differentiate if this is a cellulite type condition or simply a lack of volume from insufficient fat transfer. I suggest you go back to your plastic surgeon and asked for his or her suggestion of what to do and if the second revision is indicated. Often people with connective tissue causing cellulitecan be detected before a Brazilian and flat areas can be predicted. An experienced plastic surgeon should be able to anticipate who will get a good result and it will not. I'm sorry to tell you but posting on real self will not fix your problem. I suggest following up with your plastic surgeon or getting a second opinion from an in person consultation. Best, Mats Hagstrom M.D.
