Does Lipo-Light really work?

Question

I keep seeing advertisements for lipo light offered. Does this really work? I'm looking to get rid of a small tummy pooch and some small love handles that won't seem to go away. Thanks!

Traditional forms of liposuction are unparalleled in terms of results. Liposuction is efficient and low-risk, has a short recovery time, involves minimal scarring and offers predictable results. On the other hand, lipo-light is not backed up by any studies and doesn’t lead to lasting fat reduction. While lipo-light might work, it’s unlikely you’ll see a significant difference before and after the procedure.

In your case in order to remove a “tummy pouch” and “love handles” with satisfactory results you will need more than Lipo light.

Lightlight induced fat reduction does work, but to an extremely small degree and none of the results are permanent. The fat always returns to the spot as long as the person continues to consume carbohydrates and fats. if you want to have the fat reduce permanently only liposuction is an effective tool. Lipo-LIght basically works by using laser light to make some holes in fat cells to allow some of the stored fat to come out, thereby shrinking the fat cell. However the holes eventually close up so the effect is temporary. As soon as you eat more calories than you burn up, the fat cells will again be storing fat. The cells will return to their previous size and your fat areas will look like they do now. Most patients prefer a permanent fat removal method such as LaserLipo, CoolSculpting, liposuction or various radiofrequency devices rather than temporary measures. Liposuction and LaserLipo can be done in a single treatment where other non-invasive methods may require more than 1 treatment since smaller amounts of fat are destroyed with each treatment. If you are like most patients who want their fat permanently gone, I would suggest you consult a physician who is skilled in permanent fat removal such as  CoolSculpting/LaserLipo/liposuction to assess your problem areas and advise you to your best options.Best wishes, Mary Beth Mudd
