I've looked at alot of reviews for the Mixto Laser and the Fractional Co2 Laser both having good results. Just asking for some advice on which is better for wrinkles on the cheek(worse when smiling)? Thanks and God Bless
Answer: MIXTO is a great tool that can be adjusted to your needs Dear patient, I have used several different types of fractional CO2 lasers since 1999. In my opinion MIXTO CO2 laser is one of the safest and most versatile CO2 laser resurfacing devices out there. With proper pre-laser prepping of the skin (bleaching cream and Retin A) it can be safely used in patients with darker and more sensitive skin. It is very adjustable and the 180micron handpiece can go very deep and tighten deep wrinkles or resurface deep acne scars. The 300 micron handpiece is more superficaial and can be used or light resurfacing. It can be used in the fractional mode or in the FULLY ABLATIVE mode. Thee are literally THOUSANDS of different combinations adnd seeing. More importantly this laser can be safely used in combination and concurrently with other modalities. I hope this was helpful Yours, Dr A, David Rahimi

Answer: CO2 can help resurface and tighten the skin to reduce appearance of deep wrinkles. Pair with a chemical peel for better results Fractional laser is an amazing and highly effective treatment in our office. We use the laser treatment to help with acne scars, large pores, fine wrinkles, tissue collagen loss, scars, sebaceous hyperplasia, active acne, and for brightening dark pigmentation. Although there are very strong fractional lasers such as CO2 laser, we use lighter treatments for corrective skincare and maintenance of results. Our Thulium fractional laser, clear and brilliant laser, and Ultra Thulium laser are excellent options in our clinic. We also perform CO2 fractional and erbium depending on skin tone and tolerance for downtime. Patients do have to use a Melarase cream before and after treatment to help further reduce pigmentation after laser. Melarase AM, Melarase PM, and Melapads can seriously improve surface sun damage and UV related pigmentation. Dark spots can improve with these treatments. I recommend fractional laser for incisional scars as well, especially after plastic surgery. Best, Dr. Karamanoukian Realself100 Surgeon

Answer: Laser differences Thanks for your question. Mixto is just one of the brands of CO2 lasers available, and we are very happy with ours in my practice. The outcome of your resurfacing will have a lot to do with the skill and experience level of your laser specialist or dermatologist, how you do with taking care of the skin both before and after, and future healthy lifestyle choices including not smoking, keeping your weight stable, and wearing a physical blocking sunscreen all the time while outside (like a mineral sunscreen).. See your dermatologist for the best in-person evaluation and maybe a combination of Mixto or other CO2 resurfacing and some neuromodulators and fillers might be best for what you are looking for.

Answer: MIXTO or Fraxel for deep cheek wrinkles MIXTO is a fractionated CO2 laser but works with a continuous wave laser to create a slower "build" of energy instead of a fast "punch" of energy. The difference between those is that the slower build seems to protect against a lot of the pain and unwanted side effects that patients can experience with older generations of fractionated CO2 lasers. Hope this helps.
