Is performing PRP with derma roller helpfull in restoring hair loss ? I had hair transplant one year back but still need to restore the crown area.

Yes, employing a dermaroller or microneedling can lead to an increase in important growth factors and stem cells in the scalp as well as hair growth-related genes to create an increase in hair production. Microneedling with PRP has been shown to be a safe and effective management of AGA (androgenetic alopecia). 
A note of warning: not all microneedling equipment, PRP, and technique are effective. Only a knowledgeable and experienced hair care physician understands optimal needle size, directional use, and ancillary hair restoration applications.

PRP(Platelet Rich Plasma),Finasteride,Minoxidil and Low Level Laser Light therapy are useful adjuncts to help maintain existing hair and prevent further loss.The only way to truly get more hair is with Transplantation .

Prp is effective, but I have a very specific protocol, every 3-4 weeks for 6 months with prp therapy. I also add in progesterone to speed the healing process.  After that the injections are tailored down. In my opinion, the Derma roller by itself will help restore hair. Initial studies with PRP were done with topical PRP after micro needling or Derma roller. The results of these studies( 6 to 15%) were not as helpful as those that were performed using the subdermal depo PRP injection technique ( 30% recently reported in Dermatologic Surgery). Find a PRP expert. Ask to see photos.

The purpose of a dermaroller is to "wound" the scalp and attract more growth factors to the area. This procedure is helpful as an adjunct to PRP treatments.  We give patients a dermaroller to take home to use after treatment.
