Is it normal the area is red and slightly raised 4 months after mole removal? (Photo)

Thank you for your question and photograph. Scarring post mole removal is a possibility, this scar is a keloid and may continue to grow over time. Treatment options may include cortisone injections in combination with Botox injections and Laser to help soften, flatten and lighten the area. Keloids can improve, but may need to be treated every couple of months in order to maintain them.

Thank you for your question and photograph. A common result of skin trauma/surgeries is scarring, but there are two forms of scarring: atrophic and keloidal. Atrophic scarring is when the skin has an indentation from the trauma, and keloids are thick, raised, firm scars. There are treatment options to help with each type of scarring, so I highly recommend you consult with a board certified dermatologist. Take care and good luck.
