I was wondering if the face is only place that Micro-needling can be done? I was wondering since it produces collagen & thickens up the skin can it be done under chin in the neck area for firming? & also can it be done on back of hands for thinning skin & crepiness or would veins in hands be a problem? I'd also like to know if when used around eyes does it help at all with diminishing dark circles? Thank you

Answer: Microneedling Good afternoon and thank you for your question! Microneedling can be done on the face and the body! It is great for stretch marks on the stomach, legs, and arms. It can treat scars, fine lines, and laxity, among others. Microneedling is a fantastic treatment, especially when used in combination with growth factors or PRP. Veins on the hands should not be a problem, however, make sure the technician performing the treatment is experienced and knowledgeable about microneedling on the body. Dark circles under the eyes can be attributed to an array of different things (i.e. sleep deprivation, dehydration, allergies, venous congestion in under eye blood vessels, heredity, etc.). It is important to determine the cause of the dark circles under your eyes prior to treating them. Microneedling may be helpful in reducing the appearance of dark circles, however, it will need to be in combination with a skin lightening cream to be most effective. Answer: Micro needling RF and PRP for off face treatments, and stretch marks. This treatment can be done off the face. This includes the neck and chest area, however healing in these area take an extra 3-4 days at the same density. The use PRP gives better results and can speed up recovery time. Though not a magic answer, micro needling, especially with energy RF can also help with stretch marks on the body and limbs. 5 sessions required, spaced 4-6 weeks apart. All the best, Dr Davin Lim. Brisbane. Australia.
