How often do you have to replace your butt implants?

Because FDA approved buttock implants are made of soft semi-solid silicone rubber and do not have a silicone shell that contains a liquid on the inside, like breast implants, they cannot rupture or leak. Buttock implants are therefore considered a permanent implant that never has to be changed at a certain interval unlike breast implants, which are generally recommended to be replaced every 10 years with a fresh pair.

Butt implants do not carry the same risk of rupture and other implant related complications. The semisolid implants placed in the US are difficult to rupture in the conventional sense.  The main factors in longevity of implants is the plane in which the implants are placed, how the pocket is dissected and closed, and the judgment utilized by the surgeon. Butt implants should be replaced if complications such as infection, capsular contracture, or malposition of the implant occurs.
