I would like to have bigger hips and butt and I wanted to know if implants are safer than BBL?
Answer: Butt implants Dear Itseuni, BBL is a total waste of your time and money, because the fat disappears completely or almost completely within months or even sooner. I have seen it on many patients who came to my surgery center for butt implants surgery after their big disappointment from the BBL procedure that was done by other surgeons. Think about it this way. If fat injection would have been consistent and reliable, most women would have preferred it for breasts augmentation over breasts implants, however the reality is that the number one cosmetic surgery in the US is breasts augmentation with implants... BBL does not work long term! As far as safety, BBL is associated with multiple deaths of young women, whereas none is associated with butt implants to my knowledge. However, there are possible complications with butt implants if you go to inexperienced surgeon or you do not follow strictly the post operative instruction. Butt implants surgery is a very satisfying surgery, however not all result are the same , because there are different implants and different techniques. Additionally, experience, technical skills and aesthetic eye are critical for good outcome. So, do your due diligence carefully and choose your surgeon wisely. Always, consult with experienced board certified plastic surgeons who operate in accredited surgery center for your safety. Most importantly, check the before and after pictures in the photo gallery, to make sure that they are numerous, consistent and attractive with nice 'S' curve, nice projection, round hips, low hidden single scar and natural look. It is worth traveling if you do not have locally an experienced surgeon with butt implants surgery. Best of luck, Dr Widder

Answer: Buttockk Implants Yes, buttock implants are significantly safer than the fat transfer. This is a much more predictable procedure and can last a lifetime.Be sure to choose a board certified plastic surgeon who specializes in this procedure and has an extensive photo gallery as well as patient testimonials.

Answer: Butt implants versus BBL An excellent question. Recently there have been concerns regarding safety in Brazilian butt lift, due to incidences of fatal fat embolism. However this is a totally avoidable complication. Fat embolism can only happen if you happen if you inject with a thin pointy cannula deep into the muscle. In contrast it is absolutely safe if you doa) not inject fat into the muscleb) use blunt tip cannulas, ideally "basket type", and ideally combine with continous flow EVL type fat infiltrationc) stay strictly inside the subcutaneous tissue and DON'T infiltrate ANYTHING into the muscleIf all these factors are considered, BBL is a very safe operation. If you inject into the muscle it can be very dangerous. The small community of surgeons worldwide who have totally dedicated their clinical interest to BBL surgery have been aware of this for a few years and will only perform the surgery respecting these 3 factors. The problem with the recent boom of Brazilian butt lift surgery is that due to the enormous demand of the procedure large numbers of surgeons are starting to do this who may not be aware of the cutting edge technology in this. But if you have this surgery done with cutting edge technology honouring the above-mentioned three points, there is nothing you need to worry about.

Answer: Fat Injections vs Buttock and Hip Implants There are very important differences between these two methods of buttock and hip augmentation. If fat is not injected into the muscle then there are no safety issues or differences between the two methods of augmentation. However there are major differences in terms of recovery and the other implant-related risks of seroma and infection. As a general statement if you have the donor fat available to do a BBL procedure than that should be your first approach. Buttock and hip implants are usually reserved for those patients that don't have enough donor site or have had a 'failed' BBL procedure.
