To make an accurate assessment regarding the outcome of any plastic surgery procedure we need to see a complete set of proper before and after pictures. If you don’t have before, and after pictures and ask your surgeon to forward, the pictures they took.Plastic surgery outcomes are based on the patient’s candidacy for the procedure combined with the skill and experience of the provider.Without seeing before pictures, we don’t have a good reference of your candidacy for the procedure in the first place. if you have concerns about the outcome of your procedure, then you should follow up with your provider and ask him or her to address your concerns. Here are a few points that others may find helpful. As mentioned previously the two single most important variables are patient candidacy, and provider selection. There isn’t all that much. Someone can do regarding their own candidacy, but understanding if you’re an excellent, good average, or less than average candidate for the procedure can help people understand Except and appreciate their outcomes better creating overall higher patient satisfaction.Understanding your candidacy is best done by having quality in person consultations.I generally highly recommend people avoid virtual consultations whenever possible.I highly recommend people avoid traveling long distances for elective surgical procedures. The single variable patients have control over is provider selection. To find the best provider I suggest patients make a list of local providers who seem to have extensive skill and experience with the procedure.Next schedule in person consultations with as many providers as possible. During each consultation, bring pictures of your own body to use as reference when reviewing before, and after pictures.During each consultation, ask each provider to open up their portfolio and show you their entire collection of before, and after pictures of previous patients who had similar body characteristics to your own.An experienced provider should have no difficulty showing you the before and after pictures of at least 50 previous patients. Being shown a handful of pre-selected results, representing only the best results of a providers career may be insufficient to get a clear understanding of what average results look like in the hands of each provider, what your results are likely to look like or how many of these procedures they’ve actually done. Take care notes during each consultation, especially regarding the quantity and quality of before and after pictures.Continue having consultations until you feel quite comfortable. You found the best provider for your needs. The biggest mistake Patients make is having only one consultation and then scheduling surgery. This basically eliminates the ability to choose the better provider. There’s no correct number of consultations needed to find the right provider. The more consultations you have the more likely you are to find the better provider for your needs.Considering that these procedures are more or less permanent, irreversible And people will be reminded of the outcome every day for the rest of their life. I think it’s reasonable to put in the time and effort to visit providers in person and have multiple consultations before making any final decisions.I cannot emphasize enough the importance of provider selection. Many people who post on this website with concerns regarding the outcome of their procedure have not followed up with their provider.I highly recommend against traveling long distances for elective surgical procedures.People do not seem to appreciate the importance of properly, vetting providers, the importance of having multiple consultations before selecting a provider, the number of people who will have real concerns or issues needing support after the procedure, the number of people who will end up needing revision surgery or that complications actually do happen. If following up with your provider is not an option, then seek proper second opinion, consultations with local plastic surgeons in your community. For second opinion consultations patient should come prepared bringing with them a complete set of proper before and after pictures and a copy of your operative report. These should all be available from your current provider if you request them. Generally surgeons are responsible for surgical outcomes, and patients are responsible for choosing their provider. In your case, it appears you could benefit from revision surgery. To make an accurate assessment and give you quality recommendations. It is far better that you seek in person, consultations, and have axes to all qualifying information including your before and after pictures. At that point you were in a position to get a recommendation for improving your outcome. This could be done With revision Liposuction, additional fat transfer, or a combination of both.Treating poorly down Liposuction or excessive fat removal is difficult.Attempt to restore volume of previously treated areas with fat transfer often takes multiple procedures.Your situation is complex enough that it warrants in person consultations.Your best option is to follow up with your provider, who did the procedure.Overall, the result is not terrible, and they should be able to improve the outcome to some degree.Best,Mats Hagstrom, MD
