Hi Jgprecious,They say "Two heads are better than one!" With Emsculpt 1 or 2 paddles can "do the trick." If the abdomen is wide enough to accomodate two paddles without the paddles touching each other then 2 are used. If the abdomen is not wide then one paddle is enough. In both cases the abdominal muscles are stimulated to supra-maximal contractions and the results are equivalently good. Good luck and be well.Dr. PEncino, CA
Great question! depending on the size of the abdomen 2 paddles can be used. However, if the abdomen is too small for both paddles, 1 is completely sufficient for great results.
Hi There!Thank you for your question. The answer really does depend on the patient. If the patient can comfortably have two paddles on their abdomen without the paddles touching then it would be better to use two. However if the patient doesn't have the body size/shape to handle two then one will provide a perfect treatment. It's mostly about covering as much surface area as possible! Best of luck with your treatment!
The decision to use one or two EMSculpt paddles on the abdomen is completely dependent on the size of the abdomen. Most patients don't have a large enough abdomen to fit both paddles so a single paddle can easily create the hypercontractions of the entire abdomen. If you can fit both paddles, that's fine, but even with larger abdomens the single paddle will adequately treat the entire abdomen.Andrew Campbell, M.D.Quintessa
The field delivered by the EMsculpt is typically centered on the umbilicus and is delivered in an upside down bowl/dome confirmation. When appropriately placed this delivers the effective pulse to the target muscle group. However, there are considerations of anatomy for larger patients where 2 paddles will create a more effective field with overlapping domes. That beings aid, for the vast majority of patients a single paddle is adequate. Patients will be able to sense the contractions during treatment from the stimulation and often times offer feedback as to whether it is adequate. As always, discuss your concerns with a board certified plastic surgeon (ABPS).Donovan Rosas MDBoard Certified by the American Board of Plastic SurgeryMember: American Society for Aesthetic PlasticSurgery, American Society of Plastic SurgeonsRealSelf Top 100RealSelfHall of Fame
Thank you for your question. If the patient has more surface area to cover, then two paddles can be placed on the abdomen. However, the provider has to ensure that the paddles are not touching one another during the treatment. For smaller patients using one paddle, they should not be worried about not being able to use two because a single paddle can still provide an effective treatment.
Thank you for your question. If a patient can comfortable fit 2 paddles on their abdomen is it always recommended to use both. This will cover a larger surface area and give the patient a better result.
EMSculpt is a modern and innovative form of muscle strengthening and toning. With the use of high-intensity focused electromagnetic energy, EMSculpting targets your muscles to contract with supramaximal contractions, which cannot take place with voluntary muscle activity such as exercise. This...
EmSculpt will not only help with your diastasis recti, but will also help gain 15 % of your abdominal rectus muscle. The reduction of 11 % on diastasis recti is a pleasant side effects from building up your muscles.
Great question! Thanks for the photo since it does appear that there is an umbilical hernia present. Multiple studies have shown Emsculpt is great for helping diastasis recti but I would first recommend getting consultation with a general surgeon to see if the hernia should be fixed. Umbilical...
