Removing Silikon-1000 cosmetic injection lumps from 3 years ago? (Photo)

Question

I had a filler injection done three years ago. A permanent Injectable filler. After a few months, visible lumps began to appear. I've had kenalog injected once or twice a year into the lumps. They flatten out a little for a couple of weeks and then come back, they've been coming back quicker. Doctor suggested more aggressive treatment of kenalog but I have concerns about skin atrophy and discoloration. Are there any other solutions out there?

Based on your photo, you appear to have had silicone injected to your upper nasal bridge to camouflage a bump.The appearance of visible product may be improved, depending on your examination, with serial dilute Kenalog injections. When treating silicone overcorrection, several sessions at monthly intervals may be necessary to achieve lasting improvement. In general, skin pigment changes from Kenalog may be minimized by using dilute product, and injecting deep to the skin - not into the skin.Hope this helps you, and wishing you speedy resolution. This can either be removed surgically or treated with dilute kenalog combined with 5FU. I find that works better than kenalog alone and the risk of atrophy is minimal.  Best, Dr. Emer.

Hi there. You are certain that the doctor used Silikon1000? The problem you relate is very rare. Was there only one session or was the microdroplet technique used whereby the filling is done by tiny microdroplet placement over a period of time. That is important to know. I would suggest a second opinion w another surgeon who is very familiar w Silikon1000.
