Is it ok to use minoxidil for beard growth? (photos)

Question

Hello Sir/Mam.My age is 24 and i still have very less beard.I have little sideburns but no beard on my chin and no connection between moustache and chin beard.As you all its beard is in trend amomg youngrsters so i always feel inferiority complex because of less front beard.Some of my friends suggest me to use minoxidil for full beard.Please suggest whether it ok or i can grew by natural way.Is there any chance to grow itself by age?or If i go for transplant,what would it cost to me?

Beard hair is a genetic trait. Topical minoxidil may give you some hair but the results will not be permanent.

Although yes, it has been shown to increase beard growth it is important to  note it never makes new hairs grow that were not there before. It can thicken existing hairs but the number of hairs is the same and no areas without hairs will start growing new ones. For that hair restoration is the typical answer and that can range from $5-12 thousand typically.

Yes, using Minoxidil for your beard is fine and for some patients it's worked well at improving growth. It's possible you still may gain density in the next few years but for most people what they have at 24 is the 'final' pattern of beard growth. Minoxidil may make the hair you have thicker and fuller but its very unlikely it will cause hair to grow in a larger area.
